Trails

The walking trail at the Jaguar Camp provides you the best chance of seeing the Blue-crowned Motmot, Blue crowned Trogon, Fawn-breasted Wren, Gray-headed Tanager and Hyacinth Macaw. Besides birds, along the trail you can see other animals such as Capuchin Monkeys, Coati and Agouti and experience the unflooded jungle-like forests of the Pantanal. The complete loop trail is roughly 1.4km and provides you a different perspective than what you see from our boat tours.

Wet Season

The most beautiful season of the Pantanal is from November to April, the wet season. With swollen rivers and brilliantly green vegetation, one finds it exuberant. Because of the seasonal fulling of the Pantanal, the non-aquatic wildlife is forced to more elevated grounds. They adapt and utilize the different conditions of the hydrological cycles where the forest becomes slowly flooded and roads and lodges an archipelago. This time of the year we often see ocelots and jaguars walking and hunting along the Transpantaneira highway.

Safari Truck

One of the best ways to get around in the Pantanal is by using a 4x4 safari vehicle.  With 3 benches on top, that fits 9 people comfortably, we can replicate an African safari-like experience. Were your guide will use their keen wildlife spotting skills to look for animals off the road, such as the endangered marsh deer, capybara, collared peccary, jaguarondi, and yellow anaconda. This type of safari is also available at night, getting a glimpse at the nocturnal wildlife of the Pantanal, such as tapir, rabbits, crab-eating foxes and raccoons, owls, and pootoos.
